According to data engineer and freelance journalist Yogesh Brar, OnePlus is planning to launch smartphones under Rs 20,000. Presently, the company offers affordable Nord series of smartphones but they are priced above Rs 20,000. Revealing about this new development, Brar said, “Oppo has always been linked to OnePlus one way or the other. But now they are dictating the terms. OnePlus is going through a shift, and sub 20k phones for India are on the cards.”

Brar further added that the company is expected to launch the smartphones in Q2 next year. This move of OnePlus might cause trouble in the paradise of Xiaomi and Realme. Both Xiaomi and Realme offer a wide range of smartphones under the sub- Rs 20,000 price segment. The entry of OnePlus in this segment will further increase the competition.
OnePlus marked its entry into the affordable smartphone segment last year with the launch of OnePlus Nord. Brar also mentions that these new sub-20K smartphones from OnePlus will come under the Nord lineup.
OnePlus recently launched its latest pair of true wireless earbuds — OnePlus Buds Pro in India. Priced at Rs 9,990, the earbuds offer adaptive noise cancellation with 3 modes and 3 microphones for call noise cancellation. Users can also create a personalised audio experience by creating a OnePlus Audio ID. The device offers easy touch controls and comes with an IP55 rating which makes them sweat and water-resistant.
