NEW DELHI: TPV Technology, the firm that manufactures Philips-branded products, has announced its entry into the mobile phone segment in India. The company has launched Philips E-series feature phones in the Indian market. The company has launched three feature phones — Philips Xenium E209, Philips Xenium E125 and Philips E102A. With the launch of the three feature phones the company aims to give tough competition to the JioPhone.
Out of the three feature phones, Philips Xenium E209 is the most expensive and it comes with additional features that make it easy to operate for the elderly. The handset offers features like a large display screen, high speaker volume, SOS Function, large ergonomic keypad and dedicated side key for Torch operation.
Price and availability
All three feature phones fall under the sub-Rs 3,000 price segment. The Philips E102 is the most affordable and is priced at Rs 1,399. On the other hand, the Philips Xenium E125 and Philips Xenium E209 are priced at Rs 2,099 and Rs 2,999 respectively. The company has also confirmed that the feature phones will be available online on all leading e-commerce websites and offline on all major retail stores.
The most affordable Philips E102 comes with a 1.77-inch TFT display with 128×160 pixel resolution. The device houses a 1,000 mAh battery and sports an in-built VGA camera. The dual SIM feature phone also offers microSD card support. The handset also comes with an in-built music player and wireless FM functionality.
Philips Xenium E125
The feature phone is backed by a 2000mAh battery and it promises to offer extended talk time and more than 1500 hours in stand-by mode. The device sports a 1.77-inch display and is powered by an MT6261M chipset. The device packs a QVGA camera and comes with pre-installed games and an in-built music player.
Philips Xenium E209
The Xenium E209 sports a 2.4-inch display and a dedicated button for torchlight. It features a large keypad and houses a 1000 mAh battery. The feature phone comes with in-built wireless FM and runs on RTOS (Real-Time operating system).
